Paint

Obvious, but it bears repeating. It’s one of the cheapest and easiest ways to freshen up your home. If you want to stay on trend, PANTONE announced that the 2020 Color of the Year is Classic Blue. We’re also seeing more beige this year as people make a switch from gray, which has been the go-to neutral in recent years. 

Curb Appeal

At least the weather’s been cutting us a break! It’s a good time to clean up the outside of your home and boost your curb appeal. Wipe down outdoor furniture, bust out a new door mat, and start landscaping. For a drastic change, paint your front door a fun color! While you’re outside, clean the debris from your gutters and check your foundation and siding to see if any areas need to be sealed. If your home lacks exterior lighting, now’s the time to add it. According to a survey by the National Association of Home Builders, 86% of buyers rated exterior lighting as desirable or essential. 

Kitchen

Minor cosmetic updates in the kitchen have a huge ROI. Get new cabinet hardware or paint your current knobs and pulls. If you want a new backsplash, peel & stick tiles are easy and inexpensive. Clean or apply new grout to existing tile. 

Bathroom

If your bathroom mirror hasn’t been replaced in decades, it’s time for a new one. Mirrors are the first thing our eyes are drawn to and a dated mirror will overshadow other updates. When’s the last time you switched up the linens, bath mats, or shower curtain? It’s amazing how a room can seem brand new just by freshening up the accessories. Make sure to touch up the grout in here, too.
